Etymological meaning of Philosophy

The word Philosophy's origin is  Greek word 'Philosophia'. Philosophia means 'love of knowledge', 'pursuit of wisdom', 'systematic investigation. English word 'Philosophy' comes from a combination of two Greek word, which are 'Philo' and 'Sophia'. 'Philo' means 'love' and 'sophia' means 'wisdom'.But here arise a question of our mind that what is wisdom? Here I will say shortly, wisdom is not similar meaning of knowledge. It is broader concept than knowledge. Therefor the literal meaning of philosophy is 'love of wisdom'.

If  a man, who is thirsty for knowledge, he is philosopher. A true philosopher is he who loves to know, who loves to search truth. If we turn our attention to different philosopher's quotation, we shall understand clearly its meaning.
The Greek philosopher Socrate said - "Philosopher is one, who has a thirst for knowledge."
Plato in his book (Republic) too said " He who has a taste for every sort of knowledge and who is curious to learn and is never satisfied may be justify termed a philosopher."
Few philosophers think that - Every Rational person is philosopher. Because every rational person has many philosophical question i.e who am I? where have from I come? what will after death? what is life? who has created the world? etc. Everybody wants to get answer of these question.

So we may say in the perspective of the above discussion that "He is philosopher who is insatiable thirst for knowledge and his thinking, working is philosophy.

The Problem of Abstraction in Definitions of Data Objects

I think there is a major problem in not being able to understand and work with different levels of abstraction.  By "abstraction" in this sense I mean one concept system that somehow describes or defines (not merely relates to) another concept system.  I think this is a big problem for definitions in data models. Let us take an example in a retail business such as mortgage banking: Customer Name.  Customer Name exists in the business.  They use it all the time.  Maybe it is sometimes called Borrower Name, but the concept is the same.  This is the Level 1 abstraction. Now let us think of data values in a column in a table that holds Customer Name.  These data values are stored as a code of 1's and 0's.  Of course these bits are rendered into something we can read.  However, this is not the same as the Customer Name in the business.  I worked for a place where they prefixed the name of anyone who had recently left with "ZZZ"....
